Summer is already here, and there’s no better place for fun in the sun than Spain. With its sun-soaked beaches, cosmopolitan feel, relaxed pace of life, breathtaking architecture, fantastic gastronomy tours, Mediterranean hospitality, and unparalleled architecture, it’s easy to fall in love with Spain.
The European beauty also packs a combination of varied experiences ranging from colorful festivals, breathtaking architecture, to beaches, to vibrant parties that just don’t stop! Here, we have narrowed down a list of the fascinating things to do in Spain during summer, making your trip an affair to remember for a very long time!
August month end is an exceptional time in Spain as it marks the start of the famous Tomatina Festival. To be held in the small Spanish town of Bunol, the Tomatina festival is a crazy food fight beyond your wildest dreams with several ripe tomatoes thrown and mashed across the town.

Besides Tomatina, there are many Paella cooking contests, parades, and firework displays. This year the festival will be held on August 29th. So, gear up to get pummeled with tomatoes and have fun.
Have you heard about the cathedral in Barcelona, which has been under construction since 1882? Yes, you read it right. Designed by Antoni Gaudi, the work on the cathedral continues to this day and is expected to be completed in 2026. Marvel at the magnificence of La Sagrada Família, Barcelona in summer and soak up in the rich history of Barcelona.
If you want to indulge in the vibrant nightlife, then Ibiza in Spain is a must place to visit. The island’s three most prominent party spots at Playa d’en Bossa, San Antonio, and Ibiza Town come alive with revelers and music every night until the early hours. Since the 1970s, the beautiful island has become well-known for hosting world-famous DJs and a carefree party atmosphere every summer. Ibiza is also host to some of the island’s most renowned DJs like David Morales and Pete Tong. If you have the dream to indulge in a more sophisticated scene, head to Cafe Mambo.
Summer in Spain is the perfect time to cool off in its beaches. The country has more than 500 incredible beaches to choose from. With its breathtaking turquoise waters and unspoiled white sands, Tamariu Beach is one of the most picture-perfect beaches is the Tamariu Beach. Sa Caleta is another of the Costa Brava’s unique and magical bays. The rocky bay is also ideal for snorkeling and swimming, and there’s also plenty of sand for sunbathing. The pristine beaches will make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a Spanish haven.
The Festival of Sant Joan falls annually on 23rd June. Valencia is famous for hosting one of the country’s largest celebrations. The festival is renowned for its bonfires, which spring up across the city and on the beaches as well. And the crazy myth is that anyone who jumps over the bonfire three times will get purified and cleansed. The festival is a great chance to experience some of the local Spanish traditions and to take a step back in time.
